After the premiere on Saturday, you are welcome to attend a festive children's reception and the official opening of the interactive exhibition about the stories of Julia Donaldson.

Film & storytelling

Het kleine spookje Laban spookt weer rond is a reverse coming-of-age story in the neat Swedish children's film tradition, based on the children's book of the same name by Inger and Lasse Sandberg, who wrote the story in the mid-1960s for their son Nicklas.

A friendly series of short cartoons to help preschoolers overcome their fear of the dark.

Before the film starts, an experienced reader from Alfapret will read from the book about the ghost Laban. After the reading, you will be all set for the film about the ghost.

First, enjoy breakfast together at Het Strand, then head to the cinema. The little ones can get a taste of cinema during Cinemini: Animanimals Zoo, a fantastic series of short animated films about funny animals. And slightly older film fans can travel through time with Arco, a visually stunning science fiction film full of adventure and unexpected friendship.

Mary Anning  is a beautiful animated film  about a brave 12-year-old girl who changes history with her search for fossils.

After seeing Mary Anning , you may wonder: are there actually fossils to be found in Leuven? Is that even possible – Leuven isn't by the sea, is it? And where do those fossils come from? You'll find out all this and more during a fun city walk, accompanied by an enthusiastic fossil spotter!
