Kobe and Obi, two bosom buddies, go on an adventure. They want to catch the moon, because Obi is madly in love with it! In their own language and thanks to their unique friendship, they accompany each other on their journey.
Author Marthe Nelissen wants her books to raise awareness of social issues, and Verliefd op de maan (In Love with the Moon) is no exception. Kobe and Obi, both children with Down syndrome, communicate in sign language. Sometimes it is difficult for Obi to express his emotions, but together they manage.
After the reading session, Marthe crafts a contemporary rocket with the children, where everyone can put their emotions that they cannot always express and fly to the moon!
