Les Triplettes de Belleville [Cinema Zed - Vesalius]

Little Champion lives with his grandmother Madame Souza and dreams of becoming a great cyclist one day. After several years of hard training, he finally gets the chance to ride in the Tour de France. But then disaster strikes and two sinister figures kidnap Champion during the Tour.

Madame Souza, accompanied by her faithful dog Bruno, sets out to find her grandson. Their search takes them to the town of Belleville, where they meet 'The Triplets of Belleville'. They will help in the search for Champion.

This beautiful, refreshingly unconventional animated film received two Oscar nominations and remains a film classic that is unlike any other. It has a strange, nostalgic atmosphere, a flood of absurd, hilarious, captivating and fascinating ideas and characters, and is packed with brilliant inventions and references from the director.
